Dr. Bo Zou: Dean and Professor, College of Physics, Jilin University.
He studied chemistry at Jilin University from 1992-2002.As a joint training doctoral student and postdoc, he studied and worked in Muenster University and Dortmund University from 2001-2005. In January 2006, he was awarded as a professor for College of Physics at Jilin University.
His research interests concern high-pressure chemistry. As the scientist of the Liquid environment high temperature and high pressure extreme conditions experimental system of the national major scientific and technological infrastructure "the Synergetic Extreme Condition User Facility - Liquid environment high temperature and high pressure extreme conditions experimental station (CSTR:31123.02.SECUF.B2)", responsible for designing and building two sets of liquid environment high temperature and high pressure extreme condition experimental systems, including hundred milliliter volume liquid environment "ultra-high temperature and static high pressure generator" and microliter volume liquid environment "piston cylinder liquid high pressure generator". The discovery of pressure as a green experimental condition not only enables precise synthesis through high pressure, but also precise decomposition. A new approach using high pressure to solve controversial scientific questions under normal pressure was proposed. Successfully achieved large-scale precise control of the optical properties of piezochromic materials and proposed the concept of Pressure-Induced Emission (PIE). New strategy has been proposed to enhance thermodynamic phase transition barriers by utilizing steric hindrance effect, nanoscale effect, and hydrogen bonding cooperative effect to quench the high-pressure phase. The strategies successfully quench the High-Quality Luminescent Phase of halide perovskite materials, and metal-organic frameworks materials. Based on this, using high-pressure idea to guide chemical synthesis. High pressure chemical materials have potential applications in pressure sensors, pressure switches, anti-counterfeiting and information storage. The research projects include the Key Research and Development Program of MOST (Chief Scientist), the Key Projects of Major Research plan (NSFC), the State Key Program (NSFC), and Distinguished Young Scholar (NSFC).
A total of more than 400 papers have been published including "Nature Communications", "Journal of The American Chemical Society", "Angewandte Chemie International Edition" and "Advanced Materials", which have been cited by SCI for more than 20,000 times, and the H factor is 72.
