Dr. Bo Zou: Dean and Professor, College of Physics, Jilin University.
He studied chemistry at Jilin University from 1992-2002.As a joint training doctoral student and postdoc, he studied and worked in Muenster University and Dortmund University from 2001-2005. In January 2006, he was awarded as a full professor for College of Physics at Jilin University. Now, he is Chang Jiang Scholar Professor and Distinguished Young Scholar Professor.
His research interests concern high-pressure physics and high-pressure chemistry. Using the unique thermodynamic parameter of high pressure, some controversial issues in science at ambient pressure have been solved. Through the regulation of chemical reaction kinetic barriers and thermodynamic phase transition barriers, series of high pressure phase quenching methods were discovered and successfully applied to hydrogen-rich materials, high energy density materials, metal-organic frameworks materials and halogen perovskite materials. Large-scale and precise optical properties regulation of piezochromic materials were successfully realized by high pressure, and the concept of pressure induced emission (PIE) was proposed. High pressure chemistry materials have potential applications in pressure sensors, pressure switches, anti-counterfeiting and information storage.
A total of more than 400 papers have been published including "Nature Communications", "Journal of The American Chemical Society", "Angewandte Chemie International Edition" and "Advanced Materials", which have been cited by SCI for more than 16,000 times, and the H factor is 63.
